The Windows 98 Easter Egg is a
great deal cooler than the one from Windows 95 or IE4. It is basically a Java applet that
runs both a credits series and a little slide show. How to..?
It's really not too hard. Just follow the diagram and the
instructions!
|
- Open the Windows Date/Time Properties by
double clicking on your clock in the system tray, then click on the Time Zone tab. Or if
you don't use a clock (for whatever reason) open the Properties via Control Panel.
- It would be a good idea to move your window over this page
so you can compare your window with the picture below.
-
Hold down the CTRL key on your keyboard and with your left
mouse button click and hold where the 1 is shown in
the picture above.
- While you are still holding down the CTRL key, drag to point
2 and release the mouse button but don't let go of the CTRL key.
- Press and hold the left mouse button over 2 and drag your
cursor over to the point marked 3.
- Release the mouse button and the CTRL key and the Windows 98
Easter Egg should begin!
A little piece of trivia: points 1 and 2
refer to Memphis/Cairo, Egypt and Memphis, Tennessee, respectively. And of course, point 3
is where Microsoft calls home.
